Symptom check

If your car is doing any of this, call before it strands you

Sound familiar? If any of these match what your vehicle is doing, call Filip on 0412 108 296 for a straight answer over the phone.

!
Car won't start — clicking noise
Usually a flat battery or dying starter motor. Load-test on the spot tells us which.
!
Battery keeps going flat overnight
Parasitic drain. I isolate each circuit until the culprit shows up.
!
Warning lights on the dash
Engine, ABS, airbag, TPMS — dealer-level scan reads the real fault, not a generic code.
!
Headlights are dim or flickering
Failing alternator or a bad earth. Charging system test in under 10 minutes.
!
Trailer lights not working
Broken pin, corroded plug or wiring damage — rewired and tested with load.
!
Central locking or key fob dead
Fob reprogram, battery, or a body-control module fault. All handled on-site.
!
Electric windows or mirrors quit
Motor, switch or wiring — traced with a scope, not by swapping parts.
!
Reverse camera or sensors playing up
Common on utes with aftermarket bars. Rewired and camera realigned.
!
Smell of hot wiring or blown fuses
Stop driving and call now — I come to you before a small fault becomes a fire.

FAQs

Common questions

How much does an auto electrician cost in Canberra?+

Most jobs are quoted up front once I know the vehicle and symptoms. A basic diagnostic scan starts at a fixed fee, and I'll credit it toward the repair if you go ahead. Call 0412 108 296 for a quick over‑the‑phone estimate.

Can you come to my house or work?+

Yes — that's the whole point. The van is fitted with everything needed for on‑site diagnostics and most repairs. I cover Canberra, Queanbeyan and surrounding NSW townships.

Do you work on European cars like BMW, Audi and Mercedes?+

Yes. I regularly work on BMW, Audi, Mercedes, VW, Volvo and Land Rover — including scan tool work, battery registration and module diagnostics.

My battery keeps going flat overnight — can you find the cause?+

Parasitic drain testing is one of the most common jobs I do. I'll isolate each circuit until the culprit is identified rather than throwing parts at it.

Do you supply and fit dual battery systems?+

Yes — Redarc, Projecta and Enerdrive DCDC systems are all installed properly, with correct fusing, cable sizes and mounting for 4WDs, utes, camper trailers and caravans.

Do you offer a mobile auto electrician service in Queanbeyan?+

Yes — Queanbeyan and Jerrabomberra are our closest suburbs to base. Most callouts are attended within a couple of hours and there is no callout fee within 20 km of Crestwood.

Can you register a new battery on my BMW or Audi?+

Yes. Modern European vehicles need the new battery coded to the charging system so the alternator charges it correctly. I carry the software to do this on-site — no dealer visit needed.

How long does a trailer wiring or brake controller install take?+

A standard 7-pin or 12-pin trailer plug is about an hour. Electric brake controller fit-ups on modern utes typically take 1.5–2 hours and I bring the plug-and-play harness where one exists for your vehicle.

Do you provide a written warranty?+

Yes — 12 months on parts and labour as standard, and manufacturer warranty on batteries (typically 2–4 years depending on brand). Every job comes with an itemised tax invoice.
